The Gundaroo and District Historical Society invites you to visit its 2021 exhibition ‘Anticipate change or become its victim’ between 10am and 4pm on the weekend 22–23 May at the Gundaroo Literary Institute.

Drawing on a 1975 report on the ‘Township of Gundaroo’, which was prepared for the National Trust to ‘document the past and assess future development in the village of Gundaroo’, the exhibition looks at how Gundaroo was at that time. 

It shows buildings that have since been restored, some that have been modified and identifies others that are no longer extant. While some of the townscapes in the report have remained remarkably similar, others are unrecognisable.

The report was aimed at providing advice in order to preserve the historic character of Gundaroo through careful management ‘of the imminent future development of the village’.

The exhibition will be open once a month until the end of the year. Visits will be in accordance with COVID-19 requirements.

The Society’s exhibition ‘Anticipate change or become its victim’ is currently on exhibition in the Gundaroo Literary Institute.

The exhibition will be open on the following dates.

Sunday 15 August, 19 September, 17 October and 21 November.
Opening Hours: 11am – 3pm.  All welcome.
